Elevator Pitch 3

The feedback i received the last time that I made an elevator pitch was mostly all positive feedback. Those that commented thought I was focusing a little to much on the actual product and not so much appealing to my customer segment that I was trying to reach. So i attempted to be more casual this time around. I decided to act more casually this time, hopefully not to casual though. I think that this will appeal more to the customer segment that I am trying to reach. All of the things that I should be noticing were true for me as well!

23A Your Venture's Unfair Advantage

Current Resource list: 1) Monetary resource, I have liquid cash in the bank. 2) My connection with the current juice manager at a potential competitor. 3) My connection with a current expert on the segment that I am trying to infiltrate 4) My connection with a healthy food supplier in Miami 5) Current connection with Panhelenic and IFC executive boards for connection to the greek community at uf. 6) I am currently in no student loan debt, I would classify this as financial capital. 7) I have a very flexible schedule which I would call a capital. 8) I have a wide knowledge set on running a business, so it would not take me long to learn. 9) I have the knowledge of what has gone right and wrong in the current acai establishments. 10) I have very good people skills that I would consider a capability. VRIN: 1) Very valuable. It is rare to have strong support financially at such a young age. It is not imitable, only if you have the same monetary backing. No other resource can ...

Reading Reflection 2

I read the book by Scott Adams: How to fail at almost anything and still win big. I read this novel because as with many of my answers before, I have talked about learning from past mistakes and how that is crucial to success in life. That is why I chose to read this book. 1) The general theme of this book is that you cannot look at anything you fail at in life as a failure. Instead, you have to look at these instances as an opportunity to learn and succeed in the future. Having the attitude either you win or you learn is crucial. 2) It connected with what I was learning in this class because as you can tell I was able to answer most of the questions about myself with the fact that I think that I think that I want to learn from failed experiences rather than just experience failure. I recommended this ideology to the future students that they should adopt a similar attitude. 3) I would design an exercise that has to do with accepting failure as learning opportunities. I would mak...

Growing your social capital

1) The first person I interviewed was Moriah Adams who was a former juice manager at the former acai place on University Ave. 3 Natives. She is the person that I would qualify as the domain expert that I interviewed. She is a current student at the University of Florida, so she also falls into my desired segment. She clearly fills this spot because she is an expert in juicing the acai, and in the marketability of the business type. This person actually happens to be a close personal friend of mine. This person has laid out for me the type of business it is to run and exactly what I haven't anticipated in my thoughts about the business model. The return expectation is that she is brought up when looking for employees. This person not only has contacts within the acai industry, but she knows who is qualified for the positions within the business. She will be a great asset. 2) The next person I interviewed is Bradshaw Steele. I interviewed Bradshaw because he seems to be an expert o...

Idea Napkin #2

1) Who: My name is Nicholas LaPietra, and I am a Junior at the University of Florida and I study economics and history on a pre law track. My aspirations as far as this idea of mine is to develop a control over the acai market within Gainesville. I see this business potentially playing  huge role in my life. 2) I am offering a customizable acai bowl option to my customers. They will be able to walk into my store and choose the mixers they want in their bowls, and they will be able to choose their toppings after that. 3) Who are you offering it too: I am offering this option to anyone who would like to lead a healthier lifestyle. I would imagine that most of my demographic is going to be college kids, and more than likely will be females from the ages of 18-22. All of which will be concerned with their fitness. 4) Why do they care: I have been able to discern from my numerous interviews with prototypical customers that there is a space in the current acai market for my idea. P...

elevator pitch #2

I wanted to focus on more of the delivery of my message during this elevator pitch run. The feedback I got from the previous one I did was all positive, so I decided to approach this one more naturally and casually to see if I could deliver it as I would be talking to a friend. I was surprised that all of my feedback was positive! I decided that I wanted to change the rigidness of the first pitch and approach this attempt as a more laid back vibe, hopefully which would come off better to listeners.

16 A What's your secret sauce

Above are my five interviews. 1st Interview: My first interview was if a good friend of mine named Noah. He told me that I have been seen in leadership positions and am accustomed to making decisions. 2nd Interview: My second interview was of my friend Orlando. He told me that he thinks that I am a really good public speaker. He has seen me give multiple speeches, and he believes that I am a good public speaker. 3rd Interview: My third interview was of a friend of mine named Anthony. Anthony said that I seem to have a go getter attitude and believes that I do everything to the fullest. 4th Interview: My fourth interview was of a friend named Tyler. He told me that he thinks I am very skilled in the classroom due to the fact that I was scholar of the year. 5th Interview: My final interview was of a close friend of mine named Kristina and she told me that she thinks that I take advantage of opportunities that are presented to me.  ORIGINAL LIST:...

Create a customer Avatar

It is important for the success of my product that I accurately identify certain characteristics about my segment. Again, my segment is a typical college student, who most likely attends the University of Florida. My prototypical customer can be either male or female, but for the purposes of this assignment I will use a female example. I developed my prototypical customer on the avatar developing website and it seems that my prototypical customer will likely be a female college student aged between 18 and 22 that wants a delicious, healthy snack. This girl will be focused on her grades a lot, but also dedicates a good part of the day to maintaining her body in good shape. She will workout and eat healthy, to maintain a healthy lifestyle! This kind of girl tends to drive a small car, because she thinks its cute. Certain TV shows this person will watch will be the Bachelor and Big Brother. Most of this segment at this point of their lives do not have children. That is just a little ...

Figuring Out Buyer Behavior #2

Segment: Again, like last week, I will use the segment of college students from the ages of 18-22 regardless if it is a male or female. I feel as though this is the segment in which I will gain the most clear insight on my opportunity and the product I am attempting to create. Interviews: I decided to interview three completely different kids on the outline of questions listed on the assignment because I feel as though it will give me the greatest insight into how my product is being perceived by multiple groups of people. The first person I interviewed was a twenty year old college student female who liked the idea of my opportunity. The second person I interviewed was a guy in my fraternity. He is 20 years old. The last person I interviewed was a male freshman at the University of Florida. He was 18 years old. I proceeded to ask the outline of questions listed on 3-5 in the assignment to each one in order. Report your findings: The first thing I got out of the way was ask my inte...

Halfway Reflection

Tenacious is a Competency: One of the behaviors that I have developed to keep up with the requirements of the course is courage. You need to be courageous to go out and ask random people who you have never met before to be interviewed about a random product that you have thought up in your mind. Many people reject you and say no to your interview invitation, so you just need to learn to not take those rejections to heart. You also need to be extremely organized in this course. If you are not organized, you will forget to do some of your assignments and will fall behind in the class. I feel that these two behaviors were the most important I developed during the class. 2) I feel like I definitely have developed a tenacious attitude in the last couple of months. It takes a tenacious attitude to develop the idea behind a product that could potentially changer an entire market. Trying to figure out what people are lacking in their every day lives is a tough endeavor, and to find a solutio...
