Venture concept 2

Venture Concept Write up In this short paper, I will be writing up what I believe to be the most detail I have gotten into for the three main points of our new opportunity that have been discussed. After, I will shortly go into detail pertaining to three smaller questions. Opportunity:                 When I first came to Gainesville, I was introduced to the acai bowl. This is a fruit bowl that is believed to be good for you by giving you copious amounts of energy in a very healthy way. However, as time went on, I noticed a common problem among consumers. There was no way to customize these bowls from the menu without changing many things and having potential mess ups by the people in the back. I believe that an opportunity exists for an establishment that only thrives on selling customizable fruit bowl options, including acai bowls and dragon fruit bowls. Many people within Gainesville who enjoy acai bo...

My exit strategy

1) All good things must come to an end, and with that mentality I will more than likely decide to sell my venture about 5 years down the road to make a profit. 2) I have decided to select this particular exit strategy because I have other aspirations in life. I view this venture as a way to maybe lessen or completely delete the debt I will have to pay back after Law School. My dream is to go to law school, and hopefully this venture will help me pay for it. However, this opportunity is a huge stepping stone in my life that will help me get to where I want to be in the future. And who knows, when another opportunity presents itself to me, I will be prepared to jump at it. 3) I actually do think that my exit strategy has influenced many of the decisions I have made along the way. I specifically chose an opportunity that I noticed to be rather a fad instead of a concept that will take time to materialize. I chose this because it was most opportunistic for me to get out in five years a...

Final Reflection

1) I have read through my posts for the semester thoroughly and scanned over all of the comments that I have received.  2) The most formative experience I encountered had to be the numerous interviews that I was assigned to give throughout the class. Not only did these interviews expand my network, but also expanded on my ever-growing ability to speak professionally with people. The experience I will remember years later has to be just that also, the people that I was able to add to my network through the interviews. The most joyous experience has to be looking back on all that I have accomplished over the course and all of the work I have done for it. I am very proud of the development that I have gone through over this time in the course. 3) I do see myself as an entrepreneur! I see myself as someone who is ready to take opportunities that are presented to me. I think I have moved closer to establishing the entrepreneurial mindset, however it is a constant growth process a...

Reading Reflection 3

I decided to read another novel from the second reading list. This time, I read Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol Dweck. 1) The general theme is well stated in the first chapter of the book. The general idea is that since the beginning of time, people have had differing mindsets. It is these differences that breed success in some and failure in others. It is not necessarily that one mindset is right over another, it is more what you do with the mindset that you sway towards. You can change your mindset, and this ability, which everyone posses is the key to success because you can shift your mindset to given needs at any point. 2) In my opinion, the book greatly reflected what we learn about in class. In class we have learned that the right mindset is everything to a successful entrepreneur. This book will argue that if you gear your mindset towards accomplishing your goals at all cost then anything is possible. This is almost a direct correlation to what we have learn...

Celebrating Failure

1) This semester, I have had many failures. One particular instance is for sure the LSAT. So, currently I am studying for the LSAT which is a very serious exam for students who are trying to gain admittance into law school. I have just started an LSAT prep course and it was going rather well at the beginning, but then we took our first diagnostic. I did not do particularly well on it to say the least. I am hoping for a score of a 167 but I scored a 160 flat. I have a lot of work to do before I am able to get it up to where I would like it to be and my diagnostic score definitely proved that. 2) I was able to learn a lot from this failure. Not only did I learn the amount of time and effort that I need to put into the rest of my LSAT preparation, but I also learned something else very important. I really struggled with the score that I got for a while, it was not fun to feel this way, however, I just told myself that this is what the test is designed to do to people and this is what th...

What's Next

Existing Market: 1) I think that one thing we can potentially work on is becoming a vendor at local events and sporting outings. Not only would this get our brands name out there but also generate profits. We would likely target active events because that is where it would be easiest to sell people on the benefits of acquiring energy in a healthy way. 2) I was able to interview three current customers within the acai market. The first person I interviewed was my girlfriend who is a lover of acai. She falls within my segment of college students. Next, I interviewed a girl who is in my girlfriend's sorority who is also a lover of acai. She falls within my segment. Next I interviewed a fraternity brother of mine. He does eat acai often and falls within my segment. 3) From what I was able to gather from my interviews I think that there is definitely opportunity to grow this opportunity into what I was able to see of it in the future. I believe that the idea was loved by my interv...
