1) Who: My name is Nicholas LaPietra, and I am a Junior at the University of Florida and I study economics and history on a pre law track. My aspirations as far as this idea of mine is to develop a control over the acai market within Gainesville. I see this business potentially playing huge role in my life.
2) I am offering a customizable acai bowl option to my customers. They will be able to walk into my store and choose the mixers they want in their bowls, and they will be able to choose their toppings after that.
3) Who are you offering it too: I am offering this option to anyone who would like to lead a healthier lifestyle. I would imagine that most of my demographic is going to be college kids, and more than likely will be females from the ages of 18-22. All of which will be concerned with their fitness.
4) Why do they care: I have been able to discern from my numerous interviews with prototypical customers that there is a space in the current acai market for my idea. People care about this because currently the options for acai are so limited within Gainesville. Many people would like to be able to customize the bowl to their liking.
5) What are my competencies? There are many things that I believe distinguish me from my competitors, including my willingness to succeed which is far beyond average. Also, I have a knack ability to learn from my mistakes instead of let them haunt me.
In conclusion, I believe that these elements all fit together as opposed to contract one another. I believe that the abilities and willingness to succeed that I possess will carry over into the future success of the business. I believe that without any one of these aspects, the success of the business will be in jeopardy.
I received only one comment of feedback on my last idea napkin, and it was positive. I believe that I just needed to alter the tone of my message and make it less about me and more about the plans I have to further my product.

Nick,
ReplyDeleteIt is really important to concentrate more on your idea rather than yourself. Obviously you want to market yourself so people believe in you along with trust you, but ultimately you want your target audience to see the big picture of your idea. I think something you might want to touch on is why your willingness to succeed is different than your competitors.
You did a good job tweaking your napkin from the previous iteration of it to this one. I think this gives a great summary of your toolbelt of assets and abilities, as well as what your business is moving forward. This will greatly help you further develop your pitch, business plan, and progress in the class.
