Idea Napkin No.1

You: My name is Nicholas LaPietra and I am a Junior Economics/History double major at the University of Florida. I would like to attend Law School after I achieve my bachelor's degree, and go into Corporate Law hopefully specializing in mergers and acquisitions. I can see this business playing a major role in my life, if I am able to develop it effectively through these assignments.

What are you offering to customers: I am offering customers an option for a completely customizable acai bowl, as opposed to the limited options that are currently available. A place they can go that is solely an acai place as opposed to a healthy food option.

Who are you offering it too: My prototypical customer is a 15-30 year old male or female that is looking for a healthy option that is still enjoyable to eat. I have found through numerous interviews that all of my customers have multiple things in common. One of the things they all have in common is that they all workout and try to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Another commonality among my prototypical customers seems to be the fact that they eat acai bowls relatively often. Another thing the prototypical customers have in common is the fact that they are all not pleased at the fact that they cannot customize their current acai options.

Why do they care: I believe that the customers will pay money for this because they all seem to crave customizable acai bowls. If we offer them a chipotle or relish style service but for acai, with different mix ins and different toppings, then they will make it their usual acai go to and we will then control that market.

Core Competencies: The main aspect of the business model that will set us apart from the competition will be the fact that we are solely an acai establishment as opposed to most other places that only offer acai as an option on their menu. Contrarily, we will be offering our customers the ability to fully customize their own bowls.

Evaluation: From the responses I have given, I feel as though it is pretty obvious that all of the elements listed here fit together. I think that it is evident that the most important aspect of my company is what makes us different from our competitors. We will be offering a fully customizable option which is not available in the market right now. I feel as though this is the aspect that holds it all together.

  1. Nick,

I think that going to law school can be a huge factor in running a business. Have you considered where you will be going? Having a law background along with a business background will allow you to have all the ins and outs of running a business. I think that competition can eventually be a problem for you but as far as starting up goes I think you would be in good shape.

  2. Hey Nick

Great napkin list. I think your idea visualization has come together in a way that is making it very easy to see where you can take this idea. As Billy said having that law degree can help you better understand city codes and regulations to make sure you have the best possible operations.
